Central Universities Common Entrance Test also known as CUCET is a national level entrance exam which is conducted jointly by the 10 central universities together. The 10 universities are as follow: Central University of Jharkhand, Karnataka, Haryana, South Bihar, Punjab, Kashmir, Jammu, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. This test is organized to provide admission into the Integrated Programme/UG, Research Programme and Post Graduate Programme in several professional and educational field respectively in these 10 Central Universities. This exam conducted once in a year i.e. in June. In this article we provide all information related to CUCET 2017 including application form, exam dates, eligibility and syllabus, Counselling etc.

CUCET Application Form 2017

  • Application form will be available only via online process from the official website of the authority.
  • No provision available for offline submission of application form.
  • CUCET 2017 Application Form will be available from 20th of March, 2017 and continue till 14th of April, 2017.
  • Applicants need to pay their application fee which can be pay via both mode i.e. online as well as offline mode.
  • After submission of application form and pay fee via online mode after that an automated SMS or e-mail will be sent to the applicant registered maid ID or mobile number.
  • Applicants those who pay their application fee via Challan then they have to wait for 7 days after submission of application form.
  • Applicants can apply for a specific course for a maximum of 3 Participating Universities (PU’s) with a maximum of 3 options of programmes in each of the selected Participating Universities.

CUCET Eligibility Criteria

Here, we provide all the eligibility norms/criteria to appear for CUCET 2017 entrance exam. Every different universities have has its different eligibility condition for their different courses. Applicants those who appearing in the qualifying exam can also apply for this exam.

CUCET 2017 Exam Pattern

  • Papers: Question paper will comprises of 2 parts i.e. PART A and PART B.
  • Question Type: MCQ’s (multiple choice questions).
  • of Questions: Question paper contain total 100 MCQ’s.
    1. PART A will contain total 25 questions comprises from the subjects like general awareness, English Language, analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.
    2. PART B will contain total 75 MCQ’s questions and contain 3 or more sections.
    3. Every section will comprise of total 25 or more questions.
    4. There is a provision for the applicants that they will require to answer a set of any 3 sections (i.e. 75 questions).
    5. For Integrated Courses/ MBA/B.Voc/LLB/MCA or any other general course(s), only 1 paper will be organized which will comprise of total 100 MCQ’s.
  • Language: Question paper will be printed in English language only.
  • Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer applicants will be rewarded with 01 mark.
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 mark will be deducted, for each wrong answer.

CUCET Syllabus

The syllabus of CUCET 2017 is different for particular courses. The syllabus of PG courses will be separate for their prescribed courses.

Syllabus for UGO 1:

  • Paper will comprise of 2 parts i.e. PART-A & PART-B. PART A contains question from the subjects like general awareness, English Language, analytical skills and mathematical aptitude. PART B comprises from the topics like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Syllabus for UGO 2:

  • Syllabus will be comprising from the topics of the following disciplines: Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, English, Analytical Skills, General Aptitude, Reasoning, and General Knowledge.

Syllabus for Ph.D./M.Phil. Research Programme:

  • Syllabus of Ph.D./M.Phil. Research Programme will be comprise as that prescribed for the NET-JRF/others UGC-CSIR Exam.

CUCET 2017 Admit Card

Admit card for CUCET 2017 will be available from the official website of the authority. The CUCET 2017 Admit Card will be announced on the 5th of May, 2017. Admit card will be contain personal details of the applicants such as roll number, applicant name, exam venue, time and date etc.

CUCET 2017 Result

Results for CUCET 2017 will be declared on 7th of June, 2017CUCET 2017 Result will be published on the official website of the authority. On the bases of the applicant’s performance in the examination, merit list will be prepared. Once merit list get published then applicants have to attend the counseling procedure for seat allotment.

CUCET 2017 Counselling

After result get announcement, counseling procedure will be commence/start. CUCET 2017 counselling procedure will consist of online allocation of seats and document/certificate verification. Counselling will be organized only for the shortlisted applicants. Seats will be allotted on the basis of the marks/ rank secured by applicants and availability of seats for the selected course.

Documents that are required at the time of Counselling:

  • Original ID Proof
  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree
  • Transfer Certificate
  • CUCET 2017 Admit Card
  • Caste Certificate
  • 10th/12th Mark sheets and Passing Certificate
  • Qualified National Level Exam Score Card (if applicable).

CUCET Admission Procedure

Admission will be conducted at the level of each of these 8 central/main universities, for their respective courses. After result get declared, respective central universities will publish the schedule of counseling and merit list on the basis of CUCET 2017 score.

Admission Procedure for Ph.D. and M.Phil. Programme:

Admission procedure includes interview and written test that will carry weightage of 40% and 60% respectively. Applicants, those who qualify JRF/NET/Teacher Fellowship/SLET will be exempt from the written test. In such case, interview will carry a weightage of 100%. Only selected applicants will be called for interview process.

Note: Those applicants who are seeking for admission in M.Phil. Programmes and appear in CUCET 2017 will not be considered in “Exemption Category” and in this case, interview will contain a weightage of 40%.
