TNEA 2019: Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is conducted by Anna University. TNEA Application form will be available from the first week of May 2019. Last Date to register as new user is May, 2019. Applicants can submit their forms till June, 2019. Applicants are advised to check the details for Anna University admission beforehand to ensure a smooth experience while applying. Some seats will also be earmarked for applicants belonging to various categories under the TNEA 2019 reservation policy. TNEA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Only applicants fulfilling the specified requirements for TNEA 2019 are allowed to apply for the admission process. Therefore, applicants must check the TNEA Eligibility Criteria before filling the application form. If an applicant is found unable to meet the eligibility criteria, his application will not be accepted.

The details of TNEA 2019 Eligibility Criteria are mentioned below

  • Applicants applying for TNEA 2019must have passed their qualifying examination before the last date of application form submission.
  • Applicants who are natives of the state of Tamil Nadu and have completed their Class 8 to Class 12 education in the state will be eligible to apply for TNEA 2019without having to provide a nativity certificate.
  • Applicants belonging to other states but who have completed their Class 8 to Class 12 education in Tamil Nadu will also be eligible to apply for TNEA 2019 without producing a Nativity Certificate.
  • On the other hand, those natives of Tamil Nadu who have completed this education outside Tamil Nadu will have to provide a nativity certificate when applying.
  • Applicants whose parents are Central Government or Public Sector employees will be eligible to apply for TNEA 2019 regardless of their nativity, given that their parents have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past 5 years, at the time of application submission.
  • Furthermore, children of All India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers will also be eligible to apply for TNEA 2019.

Educational Qualifications:

Applicants (General) must have secured at least 50% marks in 12th class aggregately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Applicants of OBC category (including Backward Class Muslims) should have secured 45% marks. While applicants of SC/ST/MBC/DNC/SCA category must secure at least 40% marks.

For Marine Engineering:

  • Applicants opting for Marine engineering must have Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as subject in Class 12th.
  • Applicants must have 50% marks in English and 60% aggregate marks in PCM.
  • Applicant should not be more than 25 years of age
  • Applicant’s height must be at least 157 cm
  • Applicant’s weight must be 48kg
  • Applicant must have normal colour vision
  • Medical Fitness is also required.

For Mining Engineering:

Note to Female applicant opting for Mining Engineering course.

  • As per Mines Act 1952, 46 (1) no woman shall, notwithstanding anything contained in any other law, be employed – (a) in any part of a mine which is below ground; (b) in any mine above ground except between the hours of 6 A.M. and 7 P.M.
  • As per Coal Mines Regulation 1957, 86 (2) no adolescent or women shall descent or ascend a shaft in a cage or other means of conveyance unless accompanied by one or more adult males.
  • They should satisfy the academic norms of Anna University

TNEA Exam Pattern

Applicants appearing TNEA examination will give 2 an hour’s to complete there paper. No extra time will be given to any Applicants as per board rules and regulation. In exam question will be asked from topics physics, chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics. Form this topics multiple choice question will be asked.

Each question will be given 1marks in exams paper. TNEA Exam Paper will contain 150 Question. Exam paper language mode will be English. Exams pattern terms like complete detail, Important point etc in understanding manner is mention below.

TNEA Exam Pattern – Complete Details

Here, following complete detail of TNEA exams pattern given:

  • TNEA comprises of multiple choice questions.
  • Paper Pattern of TNEA question paper will have 150 questions.
  • While each question will contain 1 mark for each.
  • Total time duration of exam paper will be 2 hours and 30 mins.
  • Note, probably no negative marking scheme for the wrong answer attempted.

TNEA 2019 Registration

Applicants wishing to pursue an under graduate engineering degree in the state of Tamil Nadu must possess full knowledge of the TNEA 2019 Registration. The application form will be made available online on the official website of Anna University, expectedly in the first week of May, 2019.

TNEA 2019 Registration Process

The applicants will have to visit the official website i.e. www.tnea.ac.in. Find the tab for TNEA 2019 registration process. Applicants must follow the instructions given in order to correctly register themselves for the admission procedure.

Process Steps:

  • Register– Applicants have to register themselves on the website by providing Login ID and Password with OTP verification.
  • Personal Information– Applicants have to provide the Personal Information like name, address, DOB, Phone number, etc.
  • Fee Payment– Applicants have to pay the registration Fee through online mode only.
  • Academic Details– Applicants have to enter all their academic details.
  • Review– After filling the form, applicants must review their forms.
  • Submit and Generate PDF – After reviewing applicants can submit their correctly filled application form. After submitting they can generate the PDF of the form and take the print out of it.
  • Send Application Form– After taking print out applicants have to sumit the application form either in person or by post along with other required documents.

TNEA 2019 Payment Method

The payment for TNEA Application Form can be done either through online options or by the means of a Demand Draft (DD). The DD should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary (TNEA), Anna University” and must be payable at Chennai.

The applicants must fill the online application form correctly and send it along with the requisite certificates, via post to Secretary, TNEA, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025. This must be done within ten days of the declaration of the Class XII results

TNEA 2019 Selection Procedure

The TNEA Selection Process for varies applicants belonging to different categories. The details of the selection procedure are given below:

General Category Applicants

The selection of such applicants will be done on the basis of marks obtained by the applicant in the following subject in Class XII exam: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The overall secured marks will be reduced to 200, with Mathematics accounting for 100 and Physics and Chemistry together accounting for the remaining half.

Normalization of marks and Inter-se-merit

Normalization will be adopted to equate marks obtained in qualifying exam of different Boards with the marks obtained in qualifying exam of the State Board of Tamil Nadu. After this has been done, a common merit list will be prepared consisting of the names of all shortlisted applicants.

TNEA Admit card

TNEA Admit cards will available in the month of June. Those Applicant successfully submitted their application can only download their hall ticket. Through online, official portal of authority Applicants can download their TNEA hall ticket/admit cards.

Hall ticket is mandatory document keep it safe till the completion of exams. TNEA Hall ticket is a valuable documents for applies to enter into the examination center. Hall ticket contains Applicant’s related detail like Applicants name, roll number, address, center and birth of date etc. If Applicants fail to bring hall ticket Applicants will not be allowed to write paper in examination hall.

TNEA Answer Key

After the exams, Applicant has to wait nearly one month until the declaration of result. Through answer key Applicants can get to know their approximate marks and rank in advance, it will help the students in the selection of their course and college. TNEA Answer key will be released in set and section.

Set of question paper such as A, B, C, D and there will be three sections physics, chemistry & math. Separately TNEA answer key will be issued for different sets and sections in websites. Applicants have to download TNEA answer key according to set and section wise. Otherwise, calculation of marks or ranks will be wrong.

Through this Applicant can roughly check their marks and estimate written in an examination. This will help Applicants to prepare for further admission steps.

TNEA 2019 Result

Applicants can download their result from official portal. Authority will released TNEA result in online mode in the month of May or June. Applicants are advised to keep printed copies of TNEA result for further use and admission process. No authority will be send TNEA result to Applicants’ residential address.

To check the TNEA result Applicants have to enter his/her name registration ID, Date of birth and the security code displayed on the screen. If Applicants type incorrect detail screen will show error for correct detail Applicants have to enter correct detail in it.

TNEA Cut-Off 2019

The cut-off is the minimum mark which is required by the Applicant for admission into different colleges. The conducting authority will release the cut-off after the completion of the application process. TNEA Rank List 2019

The admission into engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu will be based on class 12th Percentage. Applicants, those scores good marks in 10+2 examination, the priority will be given to them. On the basis of 12th percentage, the authority will release rank list. The TNEA Results/rank list will be published in the 4th week of June 2019. Applicants will get admission in the engineering Institution on the basis of the merit list.

TNEA 2019 Counselling

TNEA counselling will start from June, 2019. It will be held in offline mode. Applicants whose names have been included in the TNEA 2019 merit list will be eligible for taking part in the counselling process. If in case applicant can’t be present at the counselling then he can authorized his parents to participate on behalf of him. These applicants will be called in order of their ranks for counselling and will be required to choose college or stream that is available at that time. Seats will be allotted on the basis of the applicants’ rank and the preference filled. Applicants are required to pay the counselling fee after the seat allotment and document verification.

if applicant is not able to attend the counselling then he is allowed to present in another slot. Provided that if would agree for the seat allotment from the remaining vacant seats only.  Also if applicant’s ranks and marks changes after re-evaluation then he is able to seat in the counselling slot on the basis of rank.

TNEA Counselling Fee

Applicant has to pay TNEA counselling fee after the seat allotment and document verification process. Applicants of general category are required to pay Rs. 5000/- and SC/ST/SCA Category students have to pay Rs. 1000/-.

TNEA Admission 2019

The TNEA admission process will take place after the successful commencement of the TNEA 2019 counselling. Applicants have to bring their allotment letter & documents during the admission process.
