NTSE 2018: The NTSE (National Talent Search Examination), is a national scholarship examination for awarding scholarships to class 10th students is organised by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training). National Talent Search Exam is a bilateral/ two-level examination where stage I will conducted by the States/UTs and stage II exam will conducted at national level by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training). This year, NTSE 2019 will be conducted at state level on November 2018 and at national level on May, 2019. Candidates can apply for NTSE stage I 2019 for their respective states. The last date of filling NTSE application form 2018 is different for all UTs/ states. Candidates who are studying in class 10th can apply before the last date of application. The exam for NTSE stage I and stage II will be based on Mental Ability Test, Scholastic Ability Test and Language Ability Test. NTSE 2019, at both state level and national level will be conducted in offline mode only. All about NTSE 2019

National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) or National Science Talent Search Scheme (NSTSS) was launched in 1963 by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) with an aim to finding the talented students and grant them with scholarship to pursue their additional education. The NTSE exam is a two-level stage examination where candidates are tested for their Language, Mental, and Scholastic abilities. The stage I exam of NTSE is conducted by the respective UT or state only and the stage II exam is conducted by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training). The candidates those who are shortlisted via this two-tiered examination will be awarded as many as 1000 of scholarships every year. Only Class 10th students are eligible to appear for NTSE examination.

NTSE 2019 Scholarship Criteria

  • Candidates those who will pursue further studies in Science, Languages, Humanities, vocational studies, Commerce, and Fine Arts will be awarded scholarship amount till Ph.D. level
  • Candidates those who study professional programmes such as Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law, and Technology are provided scholarship amount till their 2nddegree level or post-graduate programme

NTSE 2019 Reservation Criteria

NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) awards as many as 1000 of scholarships to the qualified candidates of NTSE. Out of the total scholarships, the exam conducting authority has set a reservation quota for some categories as stated below –

NTSE Eligibility Criteria 2019

Candidates those who want to appear for NTSE stage I and stage II examination need to fulfil the eligibility criteria of NTSE 2019 as mentioned by each state as well as NCERT. Candidates can check NTSE 2019 eligibility criteria below –

  • Candidates those who currently studying in class 10thare eligible to apply for stage I exam of NTSE 2019
  • Candidates age must not be more than 18 years as on July of year of the examination
  • Candidates those who studying via open learning/ distance mode education are also eligible to apply for the examination, however, they also must not be above 18 years of age and not be employed/ working anywhere.
  • Candidates should not be re-appear class 10thexamination

NTSE Application Form 2019

The NTSE 2019 application form of will be available via both online mode and offline mode. Each UT or state will be providing their own application form for stage I examination of NTSE 2019. Candidates need to fill and submit the NTSE application form stage I before the last date of submission of application as mentioned by their respective UT/ state. Candidates need to contact the liaison Officer of the state for queries related to NTSE 2019 application form submission. Candidates need to submit the application fee for NTSE stage I exam as mentioned by the states. However, candidates need not submit any application form to NCERT and also no fee required for NTSE 2018 stage II to be conducted by NCERT.

NTSE Admit Card 2019

Candidates who will apply for NTSE 2019 stage I exam will be issued admit card for appearing in the exam. The NTSE 2019 stage I admit card will be issued by the respective states only. The admit card will be issued in offline mode only. The exam conducting body will be sending the admit card of NTSE stage I 2019 exam through post to the candidates. Also, candidates can collect their NTSE 2019 admit card for stage I from the chief superintendent from the allotted exam centre. Candidates need to obtain their NTSE admit card 2019 at least 3 days before the exam so as to avoid any last minute rush.

How to Download NTSE 2019 Admit Card?

  • Visit the Directorate of Government Examinations/SCERT official website
  • Go to Bulletin Tab/Quick links section.
  • Click on link for NTSE hall tickets
  • Candidates will have to log in with school code and password
  • The admit card/hall ticket will be displayed
  • Download and take a print out for future reference
  • Candidates are requested to check their details on the admit card carefully
  • Students will also get their admit card by post.
  • If a student does not receive her/his admit card, they need to contact the State’s Liaison Officer.

NTSE Exam Pattern 2019

The NTSE 2019 stage I exam will be organized by the respective states and UTs on 4th and 5th of November, 2019 via offline mode. For stage I and stage II exam of NTSE 2019, there will be 3 tests as stated below –

  • MAT (Mental Ability Test)The written test MAT of NTSE 2019 will be based on 50 MCQ/ Objective type questions for 1 mark each. Candidates will be provided 45 minutes to attempt the examination.
  • LAT (Language Aptitude Test)The 2nd paper will be of language test for Hindi or English as selected by the candidate. There will be total 50 questions for the language paper carrying a weightage total of 50 marks and the time duration will be 45 minutes.
  • SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)The paper 3 of NTSE 2019 will be scholastic aptitude test which carrying a total weightage of 100 marks and will be consist of total 100 questions.

This exam pattern is also follow for NTSE 2019 stage II examination, however, if there are any changes in the exam pattern it will be updated here on this page. For stage I, negative marking scheme has not been updated yet but there will be a provision for negative marking of 1/3 marks in stage II exam of NTSE 2019 for wrong answer.

NTSE Syllabus 2019

NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) has not prescribed NTSE syllabus 2019 yet. However, the NTSE stage I exam questions will be mainly based on class 9th and class 10th levels. Whereas NTSE 2019 stage II exam questions will be based on NCERT syllabus of class 10th level only. Candidates can also refer to the syllabus of class 9thand class 10th for NTSE 2019.

NTSE Sample Paper 2019

Candidates those who appearing for the NTSE 2019 state level exam can download the sample papers for their respective/ particular state. The sample paper of NTSE stage I exam will be available with answer keys. Candidates can download the NTSE sample paper with answer key to practice for the examination. The sample paper of NTSE 2019 mentions the sample questions and options. Candidates can get a rough idea about the question paper pattern with help of NTSE sample papers 2019.

NTSE Answer Key 2019

The exam conducting authorities for NTSE 2019 stage I exam will be releasing the answer key for all papers in online mode. Candidates can check the NTSE answer key 2019 for MAT, LAT and SAT papers to cross-check their responses as marked in their answer sheets. The answer key for NTSE 2019 stage I will be mentioning the correct options for all questions mentioned in the question paper of MAT, LAT and SAT. NTSE answer key will also mention marking scheme for every paper. For stage II exam of NTSE 2019, the answer key will be released by NCERT in online mode only and candidates can download it through the official link provided after the exam is over. Moreover, various coaching institutes for NTSE 2019 will be releasing the answer key for stage I and stage II exam of NTSE 2019 either on same day or a day after the examination has been conducted.

NTSE Result 2019

NTSE 2019 stage I result will be announced by the respective states and UTs after the exam will be conducted on November 4 and November 5, 2018. NTSE 2019 result for stage I examination will be published separately for each conducting state or UT within a month after the conduct of Tier I exam. Candidates can check their NTSE Result 2019 for stage I exam by login through the official link only. Candidates need to enter their registration number or roll number and date of birth to login and check their qualifying status for NTSE 2019 stage I exam. The candidates who will qualify the stage I exam will only be eligible to appear for the national level stage II exam of NTSE 2019 conducted by NCERT. The result of stage II exam of NTSE will be announced in online mode June 2019. Candidates who will qualify the national level NTSE 2019 exam will be awarded scholarships.

  • Click on the link “NTSE Results”
  • Enter your login credentials such as roll number and date of birth
  • Your OMR sheet will be displayed on the screen

Note: In case aspirants find a discrepancy in their result; they may contact the governing body. They can register their complaints through mail at ntsexam.ncert@gov.in within a stipulated period of time.

NTSE Cut off 2019

Candidates need to satisfy the minimum cutoff marks as specified by the exam conducting bodies for state level NTSE exam 2019 as well as for stage II to be conducted by NCERT. The criteria for stage I exam of NTSE 2019 is as mentioned below –

Selection Procedure

Go through the detailed selection procedure for stage 1 & 2 examinations:

  • Stage 1 exam: NTSE 1st stage exam will be conducted by the States/UT’s in month of November, 2018. Candidates those, who are studying in class 10th, are eligible to register themselves for stage 1 exam.
  • Stage 2 exam: All qualified candidates of NTSE stage 1 exam will be eligible for appearing in stage 2 exam which will be conducted on 13th of May, 2019.

Selection Criteria for NTSE stage I exam –

  • Candidates from all Union Territories appearing for stage I exam of NTSE 2019 need to obtain minimum 10 marks in each paper i.e. MAT, SAT and LAT to qualify for NTSE stage II exam 2019
  • Whereas, candidates from all states need to score at least 25 marks in each paper of NTSE 2019 stage I exam

  1. I have heard that lct is removed in stage 1 as well ..Is this true ? ..Please help me urgently so that I will be able to set my time table regarding this
