JEE Main Counselling 2018 – The seat allotment result of JEE Main counselling 2018 conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will be declared in the month of July, 2018. Applicants can check the seat allotment result through their JEE Main 2018 roll number and password from the link provided below. After the seventh round of JEE Main seat allotment, a total number of approx. 461 seats have been left vacant. The seat allotment result for round 6 was declared on July. The round 5 seat allotment result was declared on July, 2018, preceded by round 4 result on July, 2018. The JoSAA seat allotment 2018 result for round 3 and 2 was released on July, 2018. The seat allotment result for the first round of JEE Main counselling was displayed on June, 2018. The online registration for JEE Main counselling 2018 commenced from June. JEE Main counselling 2018 is being held as per the All India Rank (AIR) secured by applicants in the entrance test. JEE Main Counselling 2018 Registration

The online registration for JEE Main counselling has started from June 15, 2018, onwards. Applicants have to undertake the following steps to successfully register for JEE Main counselling 2018:

  • Click on the link  provided above on this page
  • On the login page, enter JEE Main 2018 roll number and password
  • Enter the security pin as shown on the screen
  • After successful login, enter all the required details
  • Verify all the details entered on the registration page and then click on ‘Confirm registration’ button

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Choice Filling

Applicants have to fill in their choices of institutes and programmes in order of preference. While filling in their choices, applicants must keep the following points in mind:

  • Applicants must carefully prioritise the courses while filling in their choices as for applicants who are eligible for participating in counselling based on JEE Main 2018 Paper 1 (B.E. / B.Tech.) and Paper-2 (B.Arch. / B.Planning) will be allocated only one seat
  • Applicants are not required paying any fee and they can fill as many choices as possible
  • After mock seat allocation, applicants must ‘lock’ their choices. In case, the choices are not locked, it will be automatically be locked in the last minute of the last date of choice filling
  • After the last date, no applicant will be able to change their choices

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Freeze, Float and Slide Options

Applicants can opt to freeze, float or slide their choice for subsequent rounds while accepting a seat. Details are as follows:

  • Freeze: Applicants accepting the allotted seats and do not want to participate in further rounds of JEE Main counselling. Such applicants will not be considered for subsequent rounds of admission
  • Float: Applicants accepting the seat allotted by JoSAA but also wants to apply for a better/higher preference in the subsequent rounds of counselling. Such applicants can participate in the further admission process.
  • Slide: Applicants who have accepted the allotted seat but seeking admission to a higher preferable programme within the Institute. Such applicants will be considered for further admission process.

JEE Main Counselling 2018 Rounds

JoSAA will conduct the counselling of JEE Main 2018 in seven rounds. After each round, the seat allocation result will be published and applicants have to report to the reporting centre for document verification and acceptance/withdrawal of seats. Details on round wise JEE Main counselling 2018 is as given below:

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 1

  • Based on JEE Main rank and preference of choices filled in by the applicants, the first round of seat allocation result was displayed by JoSAA on June, 2018. Applicants who have been allocated seats in JEE Main counselling round 1 have to download ‘provisional seat allotment letter’ and report in person at the reporting centre, accept the seats by paying the seat acceptance fee. Applicants will also require to verify all the requisite documents and get the seat confirmed.

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 2

  • After the completion of the 1st round of seat allotment process, JoSAA will display the total number of seats filled and availability status in July at 10:00 am. The seat allocation result will for the 2nd round of counselling will be displayed on the same day at 5:00 pm. Applicants who are eligible to participate in this round have to report at the reporting centre between July to accept/ withdraw their respective seats.

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 3

  • Applicants can check the result of seat allocation for the 3rd round of JEE Main 2018 counselling in July. The seat acceptance/ withdrawal formalities for the eligible applicants will be carried out from July, 2018.

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 4

  • After the completion of the 3rd round of JEE Main counselling 2018, the number of seats filled/available have been displayed online on July 13 along with the result of seat allocation for the 4th round. The seat acceptance/withdrawal formalities for the eligible applicants were carried out in July, 2018.

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 5

  • JoSAA has displayed the number of seats filled and the availability status along with the result of seat allocation for the 5th round of counselling of JEE Main in July, 2018. Reporting of applicants at the reporting centre for seat acceptance/withdrawal for the 5th round is held in July, 2018

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 6

  • The total number of filled and vacant seats after the 5th round of counselling was displayed online in July, 2018. Acceptance/withdrawal of seats by eligible applicants for JEE Main counselling round 6 was held on July.

JEE Main Counselling 2018 – Round 7

  • The number of seat filled/availability status and the seat allocation result for the last round of JEE Main counselling has been displayed in July, 2018. Applicants have to report on July 22 at the reporting centre for acceptance of seats. There will be no withdrawal of seats in this round.

JEE Main Counselling 2018- Payment of Seat Acceptance Fee

After every round of seat allotment, applicants who have been allotted a seat have to remit seat acceptance fee through e- challan or SBI Net Banking. The category wise seat acceptance fee can be checked from the table below:

Reporting at the Allotted Institute

After each round of JEE Main 2018 counselling, it is mandatory for applicants to report at the allotted institute in person. Applicants have to complete all the admission formalities of the institute, get the admission confirmed and begin the academic session. The commencement of classes in the IIITs, NITs and GFTIs will be announced in due course of time.

Supernumerary Seats for specific Union Territories:

Supernumerary seats for the Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, and Lakshadweep islands will be in the NITs shown below:

There will be a separate round of seat allocation for these Union Territories and the states of North East (namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura) after the joint seat allocation and seat acceptance under JoSAA. Seat allotment on such seats will be conducted through a Centralized Seat Allotment Board for North Eastern States and Union Territories (CSAB NEUT).
