In this article we describing JEE Main Exam Pattern 2018. It provides details about number of subjects questions, covered, marking scheme, etc. As JEE Main is organized in two different papers. Check the exam structure separately for both the exam papers:

For JEE Main Paper-1:

  • Course:Paper-1 is conducted for admission to Tech/ B.E. courses.
  • Exam Mode:The exam mode for paper 1 is offline mode (PBT) as well as online mode (CBT). Applicants can choose any one of the modes as per their suitability.
  • Subjects:The paper-1 will consist of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry
  • Number of Questions:30 questions will be asked from each and every subject which meanse total 90 questions come in paper which contain weightage of 360 marks.
  • Type of Questions:Only MCQ will be asked in Paper-1.
  • Language:For every exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be Hindi & English (except exam centre cities in Dadra, Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be Hindi, English, and Gujarati). While filling the application form applicant need to choice for question paper language.
  • Exam Duration: 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme:For each and every correct answer applicants will be rewarded with +4 marks.
  • Negative Marking:while in case of wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted for the same.

For JEE Main Paper-2:

  • Course:Paper-2 is organized for admission to Planning/ B.Arch courses.
  • Exam Mode:The exam mode for this paper will be offline mode (PBT).
  • Number of Questions:30 questions come from Mathematics (Part-1), 50 questions from aptitude test (Part-2) and 2 questions from drawing comprising which containing a weightage of total 390 marks.
  • Type of Questions:The Mathematics and Aptitude test section will contain MCQ type questions. While Drawing test will be subjective.
  • Language:For every exam cities, the question paper medium choice will be Hindi & English (except exam centre cities in Dadra, Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Nagar Haveli where choices for question paper will be Hindi, English, and Gujarati). While filling the application form applicant need to choice for question paper language.
