 What is New in JEE Main 2017 ?

  • There is no minimum percentage criteria for 12th class candidate for appearing in Joint Entrance Examination Main 2017 exam.
  • Applicants need to qualify if he/she need admission in the Indian Institutes of Technology / National Institutes of Technology / Indian Institutes of Information Technology and such other Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTIs) whose admissions are based on the JEE Advanced or in JEE Main ranks, they must have to grab at least 75% of marks in the class 12th exam, or be in the top twenty percentile in the 12th class examination operated by the respective Boards. Applicants belong to SC/ST need to qualify 12th class examination with atleast 65% of marks.
  • All the Indian citizen applicants should acquire AADHAAR card issued by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). When applicants go for filling their application form of JEE (Main)–2017, then need to enter their AADHAAR name, gender, number, and date of birth which will be justified with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)  In case, details do not match with UIDAI then applicants is not eligible to fill the application form. Therefore, the applicants are advised to confirm that their AADHAAR card has accurate details of their name, date of birth & gender as per school database. In case there is some mismatch in the details, then applicants should immediately get it correct in AADHAAR data or school records.

JEE Main 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants are advised to check the JEE Main 2017 eligibility criteria before applying for the exam:

  • Age Limit:Those Applicants who born on or after 1st of October, 1992 and belong to general category are eligible and applicants belong to SC, ST and PwD and who born on or after 1st of October 1987 are eligible.
  • Applicants appearing or complete class 12thor alike exam in 2015 or 2016 with PCM stream are eligible to apply for the exam.
  • Applicants who complete 12thor alike exam in 2014 are not eligible for exam.
  • Subject’s number in 12th class:Applicants must have atleast five subjects in 12th alass examination.
  • Number of attempts:Applicant can attempt only three times for JEE Main exam.
  • Applicants having 3 year’s of diploma are also eligible to apply. 

JEE Main 2017 Application Form

  • Applicants are required to fill the Application Form through online or offline mode. Application form will be available from 1st of December 2016.
  • No other modeswill be considered to fill and submit the application form.
  • Last date to fill the application form is 2nd of January, 2017.
  • Every Applicant will able to submit only 1 applicationform only. And if more than one application form of a same applicant is find it will lead to rejection.
  • And there is no need to send printed application form to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board.

Application Fee:

Application fee would be made through two types of mode first one is online mode i.e. using debit card or credit card or second is offline mode i.e. payment using E-challan of Canara/ Syndicate/ ICICI / HDFC Bank.

JEE Main Application Form Correction:

  • Applicants now have a chance to do correctionin their application form.
  • Correction time (in images)has been declared from 10th December, 2016.
  • Any further improvements in application form after closing the correction period will not be considered.
  • Only select and allowable entrieswill be modified.

  • Number of Questions:It contained 90 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • Subjects:Exam will be mostly come from subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

  • Mode:It will be originated via both online mode and even offline mode.
  • Duration:3 hours. And 4 hours for those applicants whose having 40% or more disability (disability means to say a physical or mental condition that limits a person’s movements, senses, or activities).
  • Marking Scheme:Applicant will be rewarded with 4 marks for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking:In term of wrong answer then 1 mark will be deducted for each and every incorrect answer or answer with multi-responses.

  • Number of Questions:It contained sum of total 82 questions Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) out of which 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions (descriptive) of drawing test and 30 questions from mathematics.
  • Subjects:Exam will be mostly come from subjects like as Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing.
  • Language:At the time of filling the application form applicant choose the language which he/she want to choose as there are two languages are available i.e. Hindi and English.
  • Mode:It will be pursued via offline mode only.
  • Duration:3 hours. And 4 hours for those applicants whose having 40% or more disability (disability means to say a physical or mental condition that limits a person’s movements, senses, or activities).
  • Marking Scheme:Applicant will be rewarded with 4 marks for each correct answer whereas 2 questions of drawing carry 70 marks i.e. 35 marks for each.

JEE Main 2017 Syllabus

JEE Main 2017 Result

Result for exam 1 will be announced on the 27th of April, 2017 and AIR (All India Rank) for exam 2 will be published on 27th of May 2017. Applicants can check their Result on official site. Applicants are needed to enter their roll number and DOB and at last click on the submit button to see their score card. After the result declaration, merit list will be made only on the basis of exam Score. Since the year 2017 board will not take marks in to account for making JEE main merit list, but applicants who wish to take admission in to IIT’s, IIIT’s, NIT’s, CFTI’s must secure or grab atleast 75% of marks in their 12th class board exams as the compulsory eligibility.
