AFMC MBBS Counselling 2018 will be held for all qualified candidates tentatively in the 4th week of July, 2018. The counselling session will be held in offline mode at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune. All admissions will be done on the basis of merit of the candidates. The Armed Forces Medical College will not be conducting their own entrance examination. Following the orders of the Supreme Court of India, AFMC will be admitting candidates based on their secured scores in NEET 2018. If any candidate has not qualified NEET 2018 then he/she will not be considered eligible for the admission process. Minimum required scores have to be secured by the candidate in the national level entrance examination.
15% All India Quota Seats will be filled through NEET 2018 Counselling while the remaining 85% Seats will be filled through AFMC MBBS Counselling 2018. Registration for the counselling session has to be done by the candidates.
AFMC MBBS 2018 Merit List
The merit list of AFMC MBBS Admission 2018 will be declared tentatively in the 3rd week of July, 2018. The admission committee will prepare the merit list based on the scores secured by the candidates in NEET 2018. The released merit list will consist of the names and ranking of all qualified candidates for the counselling session. The candidates will be called in for counselling based on the ranking of the candidates in the merit list.
AFMC MBBS Counselling 2018 Procedure
The Armed Forces Medical College will be conducting the first round of counselling session for all qualified candidates tentatively in the 5th week of July, 2018. All candidates whose names are listed in the released merit list will have to be present for the counselling session.
Step 1 – Reporting for Counselling
The selected candidates will have to report at the counselling venue i.e., Armed Forces Medical College tentatively in the 5th week of July, 2018. All candidates will have to present physically for the counselling session. According to their ranking in the merit list, the candidates will be called in for counselling. Failure to be present for the counselling session will result in the disqualification of the candidate.
Step 2 – Computer Based Test
The candidates will have to attempt a computer based test during the counselling session. The test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic and Reasoning (ToELR) will be conducted by the admission committee of AFMC MBBS 2018. The test will consist of 40 Multiple Choice Questions of 2 marks each amounting to a maximum of 80 marks. For every incorrect answer 0.5 marks will be deducted. The time limit for the examination is 30 minutes. The marks obtained in ToELR along with the NEET scores of the candidate will decide whether the candidate is eligible for the interview process or not.
Step 3 – Interview
Interview will be done for those candidates who have qualified the computer based test. During the interview process, the candidates will be required to bring their original documents for verification. Failure to bring the original documents will lead to the disqualification of the candidates from the admission procedure. The admission committee will be releasing two merit lists of all the qualified candidates – one for boys and one for girls.

- 2 self-addressed envelopes of size 11×5 inch, including one duly “Registered” and stamped worth Rs. 35.
- NCC Certificate (if any)
- Certificate of extracurricular activities and level of representation.
Step 4 – Medical Examination
The final step of the counselling session is the medical examination of the candidates. For admissions into the Armed Forces Medical College, all candidates have to be medically fit. If any candidate fails the medical examination then he/she will be disqualified from the admission process.
During the time of admission, the parents/guardians of the candidates are required to sign a bond agreement for Rs. 27,00,000. Any candidate withdrawing from the college after 7 days of admission will have to pay the bond money as per the existing rules.
Service as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services is necessary for all candidates to fulfill after admission into AFMC. The liability of the SSC officers passing out of AFMC to serve in the Armed Forces Medical Services would be 7 years.
